CJ Callahan
Carolyn J. Callahan (C.J.) is a 1991 Honors graduate of the University of Hawaii’s Certified Paralegal Program. Longing for the four seasons again and to be closer to family, in l992 she and her family moved to Medford, Oregon to become a member of the Andersen team. She has worked in the legal field for over 38 years, and is experienced in both plaintiff and defense personal injury law.
C.J. helps interview new clients, and is the attorney/client liaison throughout the claim. She also assists clients in obtaining PIP medical and wage benefits and keeps insurance adjusters updated on the status of our clients’ medical progress. C.J. assists Mr. Andersen and Mrs. Morse by helping to prepare prospective witnesses for trial or arbitration testimony and in helping to locate and coordinate the schedules of expert witnesses who will testify at trial. At the conclusion of a client’s case, C.J. meets with the attorney and client to review the final settlement documents and she contacts medical providers and lien holders to assure that the disbursement of settlement proceeds is accurate.
Over the years, C.J. has given numerous lectures to legal secretary associations and adult education classes regarding the skills necessary to be an effective legal assistant.
Kathy Rulon
Kathy Rulon has been a legal assistant with the firm since 2000 and is usually the first voice people hear when they call in and she is the first person they see when they walk in the door. Kathy is responsible for routing documents and telephone calls of clients, adjusters and attorneys to make sure they’re promptly connected to the right staff person. Her compassion and friendly voice help clients feel at ease from the first phone call through the end of the case.
Corrine T. Burks
Corinne T. Burks has been a legal assistant with the firm since 1999. Her knowledge and insight of civil litigation allows her to help keep each case on track and moving towards conclusion. Her consideration and sympathy for each client are evident in everything she does.
Corinne is in charge of calendaring hearings, trials and depositions, and in helping to investigate liability facts. She also helps to prepare, gather and organize exhibits, and reminds the team of all litigation deadlines. She helps prepare pleadings, summons and subpoenas, and she helps in preparing for trial. She also keeps the firm up to date with the latest technology and handles our computer maintenance.
