Continuing Education:
Mr. Andersen has continued to be current in personal injury law by regularly attending state and national continuing legal education courses, taking far more classes than the law requires. His continuing education has included trial advocacy seminars at Stanford and Harvard Universities, as well as courses taken in San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Monterey, Toronto and, of course, at various locations in Oregon.
He has also lectured at seminars on the subject of personal injury law and has written and published in scholarly journals.
Practice:
Mr. Andersen is admitted to practice in both State and Federal Courts, and has served as lead counsel for people injured in Oregon, California, Washington and Hawaii. He has also handled cases in the Oregon Court of Appeals, the Oregon Supreme Court, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals (covering the Western United States), and the U.S. court of Claims.
In 2007, Mr. Andersen was named as one of Oregon's "Super Lawyers" from the publishers of Law and Politics. In the selection process, Law and Politics invited more than 10,000 Oregon Lawyers to participate in the nominating process and each candidate so named was subjected to exhaustive peer review. In the field of general plaintiff personal injury, Mr. Andersen was selected in the top 25 attorneys in the entire state of Oregon, only four of whom practiced outside the Portland area. Mr. Andersen was the only attorney selected for this prestigious honor in the entire southern half of the state.
Mr. Andersen has also been inducted into the "Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum," a rare honor reserved for attorneys who have achieved multi-million dollar settlements or verdicts. This forum only came into existence in 2007 and recognized past achievements.
